Importance of English Language in India Simple Essay for Student

1. Introduction – English language has become very essential in today’s world. English is the language of international communication. If you don’t know to speak English you are not living with the current pace of world. Hence it is of paramount importance that English teaching should be encouraged in India. English is the official language in 59 countries and is spoken as a 1^st language by around 400 million peoples worldwide. It we want to make our nation stand on the stage of world, we have to make changes in education system.

2. Importance of English – There is no any field or subject where English is not important. There are more than 350 + million native speakers of English in the world. English is the language of business, trade, communication, interaction, visualization etc.

English is the most spoken languages of the world. We can find any one speaking English in any corner of the word. The large amount of date available on internet, which is the source so much information and knowledge is in English. If we want to get this knowledge and information we have to know English language.

3. Condition of English in India –

In India English is very much popular and there are so many native English speakers in India. But it to a really large level. There are many English medium schools in India but their students can not speak or communication in English. The problem is in the foundation. English languages is taught as a 2^nd Language at every stage of education in all states of India & has been accepted as the main medium of instruction in higher education. It is still freely used in administration, Judiciary, in education and even for literacy purposes in India.

4. Steps that must e taken – English knowledge should be encouraged and spread among the students though edutainment and infotainment. There should be programmes and events of spreading English knowledge in schools. Education system should be changed such that a student can learn English just like his mother tongue.

5. In Curriculum – The condition of English teaching in India is pathetic. As only the few top most elite schools are English oriented and which is out of ambit of idle class and lover class people.

If we want to make every child of India speak fluent English we have to reach the rural area. It can be done by improving the condition of government schools for students of rural areas study in them. Even the teachers of Government schools use not able to speak in English then how can we blame the student.

Syllabus should be designed such that students can learn English language and literature easily.

If we want to make our nation a developed and educational nation we have change the foundation of education system and we should introduce appropriate measure of adopting English language as a language of communication.

Student must be encouraged and attracted to English Literature from their childhood through story book and other knowledge giving books novel etc. Those people who know English language should educate other people, so that language knowledge can spread. We should not take English as a Subject we should take as MEANS to convey your thought.
