SSC Constable GD Syllabus 2021

The recruitment process will consist of

  1. Computer based examination
  2. Physical efficiency test
  3. Physical standard test
  4. Medical and documents verification.

1. Computer Based Examination, will be conducted by the commission only in English and Hindi. Candidate are therefor advised to keep this in mind while answering the question.  Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Standard Test, Medical and documents verification will be scheduled and conducted by te CAPFs. Computer Based Examination (CBE) will consist of 1 objective type question paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks, All question will be of objective multiple  choice type. There will be negative marking of .25 marks for every wrong ans. with the following composition-

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning:
      • non-verbal series, coding and decoding
      • This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences,
      • spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series,
      • Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type.
    • Elementary Mathematics:
      • Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
      • This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems,
      • Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages,
      • Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration,
      • Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations,
      • Computation of Whole Numbers,
    • General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him.
      • Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.
      • The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc.
      • These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

English/ General Hindi: Applicant ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.

2. Physical Efficiency Test / Physical Standard Test:

Based on the performance in Computer Based Examination, Applicant  will be shortlisted for Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test by the Commission.

Physical Efficiency Test (P.E.T.) and Physical Standard Test (P.S.T.) will be conducted at various centres finalized by the C.A.P.F.s.

Detailed scrutiny of Applicant eligibility/ documents will be undertaken at the time of Directorate of Medical education.

Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the Applicant  to verify their eligibility as prescribed in this notice before appearing for exam.

Ex-servicemen who are shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination for P.E.T./ P.S..T. will have to appear in PET/ PST for recording measurement of height, chest and weight only. PET will not be held for these Exservicemen Applicant . However, they will have to qualify the medical examination

Physical Efficiency Test – Applicant’s have to clear the race within the following time limits.

  • Race for male candidate 5 kms in 24 minutes for candidates other than those belonging to ladakha region.
  • Race for female candidate 1.6 kms in 8 minutes 30 second for candidates other than those belonging to ladakha region.
  • for male applicant 1.6 kms in 6 minutes 30 second for candidates of Ladakh Region
  • for female applicant 800 in 6 minutes 30 second for candidates of Ladakh Region

Physical standard Test – Physical standards for the post are as –

  • Height for male candidate 170 cm.
  • Height for female candidates 157 cm
  • Few categories of candidates are allowed relaxation in heights mentioned above.
  • Chest un exanded 80 cm /minimum expansion 5 cm
  • for ST candidate 76 cm
  • Chest measurement for female applicant’s will not taken however.
